Why Nick Soave for VP Education?

Congratulations, Nick has been acclaimed as your VP Education.

Nick

Firstly, since my days of working with ESS, I have a very strong working relationship with my faculty through the Dean's Office, professors and support staff. Using this strong relationship I have managed to bring students' academic issues directly to the ENV Faculty. I have also worked with the ENV faculty on issues regarding a lack diversified Co-op experiences. As a result of our work CECS is currently working to improve this situation since my time as an ESS Executive.

Additionally, as a student councilor I have been a member of the Education Advisory Committee since Spring 2009. This committee is responsible for overseeing and managing the VP Education. The committee can provide feedback for projects and issues the VP Education should be working on. Since Spring 2009, I have also served as the Government Affairs Commissioner for the Federation of Students. This is a two fold role because it is my responsibility to organize and work with volunteers interested in the education portfolio, as well as help lobby the provincial government on issues such as fair tuition and student success. Therefore, for these reasons I am the most experienced and qualified candidate for VP Education.
